Movie Cliches

  • Woman falls to the ground whilst being chased by a bad guy, even when running over level, unobstructed terrain
  • All phone numbers begin with 555
  • Shots fired at the rear of a vehicle will cause the gas tank to explode.
  • There's never a bullet in the chamber of the gun until the last second, right before the fight
  • Everytime someone takes a drink through a straw, you hear the slurping sound like its empty
  • All movie women try to run in heels, never stopping to kick them off
  • The guy with the six shooter always wins over the guy with the sub machine gun
  • The hero never gets questioned by the police after killing 50 people
  • Villains always give the hero too much time
  • People in dress shoes are able to run just as fast as those in tennis shoes
  • Cops are always fat and are seen with donuts or coffee sometime in the movie
  • In a chase, if a moving car hits a parked car it goes flying through the air
  • If there is a large bump in a downhill road, speeding cars will always fly over them and hit the ground in shower of sparks. An interior view will then show the reaction of the passengers at the moment of impact. They will not be injured, even if they are not wearing safety belts. No tire damage, broken axles, or suspension failures will occur as a result of the impact. The car will then execute a sharp left turn at the bottom of the hill. Losing a hubcap at this point will be optional.

These are some of the small, way over-used cliches that I have noticed through the years. It gets a little annoying watching the same thing over and over, we need new material.
